Sadio Mane insists Liverpool are optimistic going into their derby clash with rivals Manchester United, despite the rejuvenation of their foes under the leadership of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.Liverpool travel to Old Trafford aiming to be the first side to inflict a league defeat upon the Red Devils since they themselves did in December.Since losing 3-1 at Anfield, United sacked previous boss Jose Mourinho and have gone on an unbeaten run in English football, which has seen them climb back into the top four. Victory for Liverpool will be paramount to keep their title hopes alive, though star forward Mane is quietly confident his side can do what is required.'Everybody knows it is a derby and against United it is always tough, but we are confident and think we can do it,' he told Liverpool's official website.'We are going to go there and try to do everything to win the game.'It is different [for United] now. They have made changes, changed the manager and he is doing very well, winning almost every game. 'They are confident and so are we, so it'll be a tough game and we will see what happens.'It will be a tough game, but we can still win because we have already won so many tough games. It won’t be easy, but we will go there to do everything to get a positive result.' Liverpool currently sit second in the Premier League table, behind rivals Manchester City on goal difference.Pep Guardiola's side have played one game more however, and a win at Old Trafford would both restore the playing balance and the Reds' lead at the summit.City return to league action on Wednesday versus West Ham, due to their involvement against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
